I have desperate need for a Z80 (or 8080, 8085) DISassembler which will run under MS-DOS. I've found plenty of 8086, 80286, 80386 disassemblers for MS-DOS but none for the Z80. Can anyone help? Thanks greatly. Jim Garland GARLAND@OHSTPY.MPS.OHIO-STATE.EDU

It's a rather clever package which runs under DOS and provides CP/M-80 and Z80 emulation. It has been placed in the public domain and I picked it up, if memory serves, from comp.binaries.ibm.pc's "de-moderated" predecessor. This is version 3.10, dated 3/14/86. New versions were supposedly forth- coming, but I haven't heard anything. It is a very richly featured package. Relevant to your request is the following: Full disassembler much like Ward Christensen's RESOURCE built right in with Symbolic Addresses Control Breakpoints for Instructions, Bytes (DB), Words (DW), Table of Words (DW), and Storage (DS). Automatic label generation Comments associated with Z80 addresses. BTW: Z80MU includes a "speed?" command which benchmarks the emulated Z80 and prints an "effective clock rate." In a Simul-Task (VP/IX) process on this otherwise idle AT&T 6386 (16 MHz 386, but measures 18 MHz if you have 4 MB RAM - which this one does), the benchmark "clock rate" was about 1.4 MHz. On my old TI Pro with a 5 Mhz 8088 I think it pulled somewhere between 200 - 250 KHz. For all of you old CP/M hacks, it might amuse you to know that the TPA in the emulated CP/M is 65022 bytes. regards, Larry -- Signed: Larry A.
