I am a project leader for a mid-size application that runs on Honeywell minis. All of my documentation is written in MS-Word 5.0. I have also developed a set of DBase files that keep track of version changes, requests, bug reports, modification histories, etc., including a document log. Since everything I write is in MS-Word format, I want to know if there is a way to read the document retrieval information in the Word documents into my document database. Best solution: Someone has already written something to do this. Other solution: Someone has written a utility that extracts the Word data and writes to an ASCII file. Another: The file format is really easy to read. I can write something in Turbo or QuickC to parse it for me. Worst: 'You can't get there from here.' I have to continue copying data around by hand. -------------- If you can help, please send your replies to the above address. (I don't read this newsgroup regularly.) Thank you for listening. ----- ===== ----- ===== ----- ===== ----- Kenneth Mayer | Teacher: "Two plus two equals..." mayerk@eniac.seas.upenn.edu | Student: "Four, but what's a two?"
