I saw ST 2 last night and when at the ending Spocks capsule was shown
on the surface of the new planet I thought I saw the doors on top open
a crack. The question I have is " was I imagining things?". If they
were indeed open a little this could mean several things, among them
are:
1. The door is open (pun intended) for the rematrixing effect of the
Genesis device to rejuvinate Spock.
2. Spock will live on in the fact that bacteria from his decaying body
will "seed" the new planet with its ??first?? animal bacteria, and
hence, all animal life that springs forth on the planet will evolve
from Spock.
As for his telepathic suggestion to McCoy to "remember" It could be that
a comment later in the movie provided an explanation. The comment was
that as long as he is remembered, Spock would live on ... come to think
of it, I think it was McCoy that made that comment.
