[net.movies] Mr. Saavik in ST2

Saavik is referred to as Mr. Saavik as a direct continuation of
a tradition in western nations' navies of referring to junior officers
as `Mr. Smith', `Mr. Jones', etc - for many centuries they were all
male, and the tradition stuck. Projecting this tradition into the
23d century must have been done by an ex-navy man (person?) who
knows how long it takes to get the navy to change its ways!
