Thanks to all for their replies; answers came in from New Zealand, England, Finland, Holland, and Australia. *None* from the US; thank goodness I used global distribution. Summary: The Amstrad has 3 full-sized slots (possible space problems at rear of slots), will take a hard disk card (P. Lahti's dealer said only a West. Dig. will work; this seems false from other replies, perhaps true in Finland), can use EMS cards (at least the RAMpage), definitely can use the V-30 (many said this; A.P. Choo said some previously ill-behaved programs work better). Choo speculated that the Inboard 386 wants an 8088 (so wouldn't work on the Amstrad), but pointed out that Orchid makes accelerator cards for 8086-based machines. Again, thanks all for your help.
