[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Pro-C from Westronix

bursens@cui.unige.ch (BURSENS Reginald) (09/20/89)

I'am currently looking for informations about a C-code generator
from Westronix called "Pro-C". I would like to know if somebody
has already used this software and if you can give me some
ideas about his quality and limitations.

Thank's in advance

Reginald Bursens

The company name is Vestronix, and their head office is located in Waterloo,
Ontario. I haven't used the software, but my brother has been using it for a
couple of years and is now working for Vestronix. Unfortunately, he doesn't
have USENET access, so he can't respond to you. I'll try to come up with some
thoughts on it you might find useful:

- produces code for Turbo C, Microsoft C, Zortech C, and perhaps one or two
others (used to support Lattice C, but I think they dropped support for
  that product)

- includes full-screen editing capabilities

- includes support for several database formats, including dBASE III

- the generator software is menu-driven and seems quite easy to use

That's about all I can think of. Vestronix has a sales office somewhere
in or around NYC (I think). If you have specific questions, e-mail them to
me and I'll try to get answers for you (but don't expect them to arrive
the next day).

DISCLAIMER: I have no affiliation whatsoever with any of the companies who
are named above or whose products are named above.
