Back to problems with 3.5" HD disks. I am having problems even when I use genuine Sony disks. Not infrequently, using WordStar 5.0 on medium to large files, I end up with corrupted data on the disks. Either cross-linked files or bad allocation tables. My files get chopped up and put together in unpredictable ways. This occurs when I used the disk drive that came with the Zenith Supersport 286, and also when used with an external drive on my XT. So it appears not to be the hardware, not the disks....could it be that some software such as WordStar 5.0, does crazy things when writing to this disk format? Or is it simply indicative of the generally poor quality of 3.5" HD disks? For now, I am just backing up real often. Bruce Waldman, bw@harvarda.bitnet waldman2@husc4.harvard.edu
