How can I order a copy of the UUPC software package, and how much does it cost? Please reply via email, and thanks in advance! -- Mark (I went to Norway this summer) Knutsen | "Not of | knutsen@pilot.njin.net Student Systems Programmer | this | knutsen@rutgers.edu NJIN Pilot Project, Rutgers University | world" | {...}!rutgers!knutsen

UUPC is a public domain uucp program for dos. You can get it ftp from many places. I seen quite a few bbs have it available for download now. If you can't find a local bbs you can get it off mine, the data number is in the .sig. The files are located in the 'msdos_comm' files area. ---Bob -- Bob Palowoda packbell!indetech!palowoda *Home of Fiver BBS* login: bbs Home {sun|dasiy}!ys2!fiver!palowoda (415)-623-8809 1200/2400 Work {sun|pyramid|decwrl}!megatest!palowoda (415)-623-8806 2400/9600/19200 TB Voice: (415)-623-7495 Public access UNIX XBBS

The latest IBM-PC/MS-DOS UUPC is available for download at van-bc.wimsey.bc.ca in the file "interim.arc". Call 604-939-4756 (for 1200/2400 baud) or 604-939-4782 (for Telebit PEP) and use the login name "guest" with the password "guest", then issue the "help" command at the shell prompt for on-line help. Depending on which speed you call in at, you might have to press the space-bar key a few times to get to the login prompt. The guest login above supports [XYZ]modem, if you would like to call in via UUCP, use the login "nuucp", and password "nuucp", instead. The name of the file in this case is "~/uupc/interim.arc". For those who would like to retrieve the file via Anonymous FTP over the Internet, van-bc.wimsey.bc.ca's IP address is [128.189.233.155], and the file name is "uupc/interim.arc". The file should be transfered in binary mode. The size of the file "interim.arc" is about 128.5 K-bytes. This interim distribution contains both sources and binaries, and is dated May/88. This version is newer than the official 1.0 distribution posted last summer, and is also the base where the release 2.0 work started from. -- Samuel Lam <skl@wimsey.bc.ca> or {uunet,ubc-cs}!wimsey.bc.ca!skl
