I am looking for a 4-port serial expansion board to use for com 1-4 under MS-DOS (3.3). The CPU is a 386. I want to (need to) use interrupt-driven input on the ports, so if the board came with interrupt routines already written, that would be a plus. I have written some myself, but would just as soon someone else did the work. :-) I have been using an AST Four Port board with some success, although I am just now starting to debug an interrupt service routine for com3. What I like about this board is that I can select IRQ5 for com 3 and 4, leaving the usual IRQs for com 1 & 2. I get some choice over UART addresses, also. But, again, if the board took care of all this already, it would be fairly simple to convert my existing code over. Please email any replies to ihlpy!jimx, since I don't get to read this news group too often. Thanks in advance. If anyone would like a summary of what I get (within the first week or so), please let me know. James Bond(-Harris)
