I believe that the Sean Connery movie you refer to was called "Outland". Not a bad movie, if you didn't mind the sight of exploding people and the warmed-over plot. In any case, I haven't seen a movie since "The Wind and the Lion" that correctly used Sean Connery's tremendous acting abilities.
