I have a Toshiba laptop that can output both RGB (CGA) and composite video. I would like to display this on a TV for presentations etc. I have done this with no problem on a TV with a video in port, but it was with composite, and thus in black and white. However, I cannot depend on the availability of a TV with video in, or a VCR attached with a vidio in port. -Does anyone know of a device that can reliably be used to adapt composite or RGB output to display on the TV? I am already looking into a modulator for composite, yet that still leaves it in black and white. If you know of anything that I might look into, including a good adapter for composite video, please let me know. If you can include a source I would really appreciate it. (You would think that someone like Toshiba would make a little add on like this for all those people who do presentations on the road. After all, it's easier to see a TV than the best LCD!) It would be best if the device could be able to hook up to any standard TV (i.e. one without a video port). Thanks much. Please E-mail responses to: markxx@garnet.berkeley.edu as I cannot keep up with comp.sys.ibm.pc -Mark

I was going to ask exactly the same question. For the record, I'm using a G7B multifunction/multiadapter card on an XT clone. In its manual, it mentioned that I could use an NTSC home TV as monitor, though they didn't say if one could get color or not, nor discussed anything in detail. So I just used its color composite setup and hooked a line from composite video jack to TV via a VCR video in port. And this is where I am in now: no color. (BTW, I changed the SW1 on system board as required by XT). Thanks in advance for any advice. -- Joe (wangzh@nyu.edu)
