[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Please help: docs for PERSYST 3Mb memory board needed.

kw@dde.uucp (Kurt Wachmann) (10/01/89)

I have bought a used 3Mb memory board from PERSYST. It is configured
to use all 3Mb as exTENded memory. This works well in my IBM AT.

I would like to remap 128Kb to backfill the DOS-memory, which is only
512Kb on my true blue AT. My problem is, that I have no documentation
and that PERSYST is not represented in Denmark at this time (to my and
"The Danish Dataguide"s knowledge).

So I'd like to know the following, if any of you out there have the docs
for this board (further identification below):

1) If possible, the switch setting for mapping in:
       512K - 640K + 1024K - 3968K in roughly stated adresses.

2) Can this board be used for EMS (exPANded memory) ? I don't mean
emulated, but in hardware please; I know how to emulate it.

This is what I can tell about the board:

It is marked EMULEX CORPORATION - PERSYST

It is equipped with 9x12 memory chips of the type 41256-12.

There is a chip in the lower right corner, that has a bar-code on it
  and the text "BN0648".

There are two switch-blocks with 8 switches each; the current setting is
    SW1: 00111000
    SW2: 00100000

There is also a jumper (is this the correct name?), set like this:
    E1 E2 E3
    x----x x

Any answers or pointers would be greatly appreciated,
   Thanks in advance,
      Regards / hilsen - Kurt.
