#N:pur-ee:7000005:000:736 pur-ee!davy Jun 19 13:36:00 1982 Well, the general opinion about Star Trek "Stardates" is that they didn't have much to do with anything, although there was some effort to at least keep them in increasing order, as the shows progressed. houxf!kenig did provide the following information, which is what Gene Rodenberry would send in response to letters he received on the subject: The stardates are in no strict order due to the fact that the Enterprise warped around the universe. Star- dates then had to be altered depending on how long the warp worked, speed, etc, as ships must change their clocks and alter dates as they pass the International Date Line.
