We have purchased and are beginning to use MS-Word for all our processing. Rumors are starting to float in from other depatrments and from students that the spell checker is buggy. One secretary here did loose an unsaved doeument to it. Has anybody else run across this? Can anybody give us the scoop? -- "There's no such thing as a free lunch, but you can get 2 for 1 with a coupon." - RUSSELL EARNEST Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta Georgia, 30332 uucp: ...!{allegra,amd,hplabs,seismo,ut-ngp}!gatech!prism!re4 ARPA: re4@prism.gatech.edu

I have heard that the problem comes about if a document is spell-checked and corrected in Word 4.0, and then later imported into 5.0. I don't think there are any problems with 5.0, which is probably what you have if you just bought it. If you have 4.0, you can upgrade, possible without charge. There is a work-around for the problem. I don't remember it right off hand.
