[comp.sys.ibm.pc] 386 accelator boards for XT's

NU115247@NDSUVM1.BITNET (10/13/89)

I would like to know of any accelator boards for the XT. I know
that Intel makes one, but I'm not real wild about that one, They
say that you can't use ANY of your old system RAM and the memory
expansion card with a meg on it cost around $380 or so. Which
I thing is very unreasonable, considering that a 1 Meg x 100 ns SIMM
costs about $110 nowdays. What I'm looking for is a board that can
use my old system memory as a RAM disk or so cache it to use it to run
programs or one that I can add my own memory with SIMM's.

On the other hand, one of my friends mentioned to me that some software
company was offering a software package (a spreadsheet, I think) which
they were offering a free 286 accelator board with the package (a $69
dollar value they said) has anyone else heard of this? Or does anyone
know of a 286 board that is that cheap?

Thanks for any help in advance.
