I am having a problem with my Vendex Headstart III PC when running Professional Writer work processor. The system will periodically lock up. This is the latest version of Professional Writer. I also have a program running in the background called Bookmark, which becomes active every five minutes or 2000 keystrokes, whichever comes first. Bookmark saves the system environment to disk in the event of a catastrophe. When Bookmark is active (10 seconds or so) the system is actually "locked up" but when Bookmark finishes everything returns to normal. A small price to pay for preservation. In fact, its been vital in this case because when Professional Writer locks up, you have to reboot. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who might be able to tell me what might be going on here. The Vendex Headstart III is a 1mb 80286 running Version 3.3 of MS-DOS.
