   Many 286 machines run the 80287 at 2/3 the speed of the 286, so a
12Mhz machine might run the 80287 at only 8Mhz. The Zenith probably
does this, which is why you can use an 80287-8 safely.

   There's no advantage to using a higher-rated 80287; it'll still
be run at 8Mhz, and an 80287-10 (or higher) running at 8Mhz is no
faster than an 80287-8 running at 8Mhz.
