Sorry if this is the wrong place for this, but it looks the best to me. I have just acquired a Tandon XT dirt cheap, on account of there being no manual etc.. My experience of PCs to date amounts to little more than running compilers/assemblers etc on our Tandon AT, here at work, so you can perhaps see why I didn't realise that while I might be able to get by without the manual, some of the etc.. is indispensable. Can any kind soul supply me with whatever I need, either on disk, or even in Intel Hex/Motorola S, by E-Mail? Or have I got it entirely wrong, and bought a pup? I haven't a clue which model it is, it has 2 x 5.25 floppies, no hard disk (yet), and an ADI DM14+ amber monitor. The back panel says model TM6001A, the case is stamped 15 December 1987 , and a rom is marked XT Bios Rev 3.4 The floppy contoller and Printer port are on the motherboard. Anybody care to guess whether Tandon would be likely to help out? I bought it because it was dirt cheap, seemed to work (reports 640K ram on power up), and I was impressed by the construction/performance of our AT, compared with some of the other PCs we have had at work. I need it for an OU course in the new year, and can't rely on being able to use one at work, particularly with a mouse. If all else fails, I've seen 286 upgrade cards advertised at tempting prices, can I assume that these would come with the necessary files? Oh, and I have something to offer too, there was a short (ethernet?) card which looked as if its ROM was missing, which I won't need. Its marked ARC-CARD/CE REV C 1987 THOMAS-CONRAD CORP, and has an NCR 90c26. If anyone's got a duff one WITH the rom.. -Sorry I haven't got a disclaimer today, the cat ate it.- Dave E.
