I am wondering if it is possible to keep track of the amount of CPU time used during a session on my MS-DOS PC-AT compatible. I'm not talking about elapsed time as in how long I've been using the PC according to my watch, but instead the CPU time or cycles or whatever its called. What I'm sort of thinking of is this: For those of you who have used the good old IBM Mainframes (VM/CMS), everytime you press enter or finish running an EXEC or program or whatever, you get something like, Ready; T=1.72/2.21 11:59:37 where the first number (1.72) is something like Virtual Cpu Usage, the second (2.21) is total CPU, and the final number is the time. I would like to be able to determine what kind of CPU-usage a compile takes on a PC. Anyway, if anybody knows of any program such as this which will tell me what kind of demand I've been putting on the CPU, I'd certainly appreciate it. I imagine it would have to be a TSR or some kind of shell program. Does this sound possible or am I asking too much of our beloved PC's? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Allan Scaini amscaini@rose.waterloo.edu University of Waterloo "Just give me my degree and let me get out of here!"
