[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Miniscribe 3085 with Xenix ?

hadji@dasys1.UUCP (Toby A David) (10/10/89)

Hi.. I hope I am not becoming a pain with my various questions.. Since I
asked for opinions on my 2.2.3 install problems, I have also decided to
upgrade to a 20mhz 386 clone. Since I'd like to interchange various hardware
between the 286 and 386, I decided to go for a 3085 71 meg Miniscribe with
a WD1006 controller. Since the 3085 has over 1024 Cyl, does anybody know
of any existing problems with 286 or 386 Xenix/Unix. We are still talking
MFM here, so past postings on the subject of ESDI >1024 may not apply.
Having been bitten lately.. I'd welcome reports on the subject.
Thanks in advance..
Toby

I'm running a 6085 on one of these machines with the WD1006-SR2 (1:1 RLL)
under SCO 2.3.2 without problems. How many cylinders on the 3085?
