/* Written 8:32 am Oct 20, 1989 by lee@minnow.UUCP in S55:comp.sys.ibm.pc */ /* ---------- "Overide of write protect on floppie" ---------- */ Does anyone have some software that I can run which would reconfigure the floppy drive in my pc AT compatible to ignore write protect tabs. The bottom line is that I want to copy programs to floppies for distribution and have a bunch of floppies laying around that don't have slots cut in them. Please mail you responses, thank you. Gene W. Lee /* End of text from S55:comp.sys.ibm.pc */ Most floppy disk drives have a jumper on the Drive Interface Card That controls whether or not WRITE-ONLY is Hole covered, or hole open. If you want to write on floppies without a notch, I suggest you find the "user's manual" for your drive, determine where the jumper is, and change it. I also suggest using a dedicated drive for just this purpose (unless you like going into your computer case to change this jumper every time you need to do a production run!). ============================================================================ Kevin J.
