We will soon have two PC's sitting next to each other, but
only one has a modem. We would like to share the modem.

We can easily connect the serial port of machine #1 to
the serial port of machine #2. So if we could connect
the serial port of machine #2 to the modem of machine #2
(which is also a serial device), we would be home free.
Does anyone know of a program that will redirect
a serial port in a machine to second serial port (in this case
a modem) of that machine?

I neglected to mention an important fact: The modem
in the second machine is internal. This means that
hardware solutions (like A/B switches) can't work and
that a software solution is necessary.
