In the 23rd century how could the Genisis device been used on "..some planet within our solar system" as someone suggested on the net ?? Obviously by then, mankind will be exploiting entirely new star systems! All of our "own planets" will have some sort of colony on it. Personally, I thought that Khan was activating the star ships self-destruct mechanism (obviously a timed-destruct). How else could such a complex device have been installed so quickly? Even with his gang of super-humans, all they beemed up was the "bomb" itself and I don't remember seeing it on the bridge. Matter of fact, did he ever really learn *what* the Genisis device did?
