Saw Blade Runner last night. Loved it. Vivid, resonant, credible view of a bleak, depressing future. Incredible texture and attention to detail. Paper-thin characters, though Harrison Ford does a very good job of making it appear otherwise, and it's even occasionally touching. Most of the action is internal, coming in feelings: how the replicants feel about their state, how people feel threatened by the replicants, how Deckert feels about offing them. This is a watershed movie; there are good reasons to dislike it (none of which matter to me) and very good reasons to be thrilled by it. Note for P.K. Dick fans: supposedly Dick and director Ridley Scott fought about the look of the film. God knows why; it has an uncanny match to the feel of a Dick book.

Come on guys, how could you have like this? Everybody I went with agreed it stunk as far as the script was concerned. Sure there was good stuff in it, but that doesn't justify lack of good characters, dialogue or plot!!!!
