[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Need MultiUsers on a 386, All other suggestions failed!!!

greggt@VAX1.CC.UAKRON.EDU (Gregg F. Thompson) (10/25/89)

Well I have watched the other articles on how to obtain more than one user on
a 386. Well they don't work. CTTY does not give me the full screen stuff that
I need, and I can't find in the docs of VMIX221 that it will "catch" screens
and put them out to the comm ports (besides that VMIX221 didn't work on an
Epson 386, will be trying a Compaq soon). And don't suggest Unix either too
expensive...

If anyone is using VMIX386 PLEASE let me know, I have some questions that I
would like to ask an end user and not the makers of the program.

What I would like to work is PC-ANYWHERE III and Desqview-386. Right now
with the version of PC-Anywhere that I have, it takes over the keyboard on
the host computer. So if I switch from the "PC-Anywhere" window to another
window, PC-Anywhere follows me to the current window, thus the terminal now
is activated on MY screen and not theirs! Does anyone have both of these
products running together? Or even Carbon Copy and Desqview-386??? Or
something similar????

Please I need something soon! Any help would be appreciated!

Gregg,
Have you tried PC-MOS\386 from The Software Link. It will let you
use terminals on your serial ports, or run multiple partitions from the
console. I have been using it for several years now, and it has improved
with each upgrade.
It works for me. I don't know if it will for you.
Thanks Rick Herinckx
