I have a WDSCS-ATS VersStak Host Adapter. I imagine it's great for controlling SCSI devices that allow random access and have a fixed block size (like a disk drive) but my tape drive has neither. You can either use the extended BIOS via int 13h (which only talks to random access/ fixed block devices) or toggle the lines on the SCSI bus yourself. I want an "intelligent" SCSI card that will allow me to send commands out to a SCSI device and retrieve the results without having to program the whole dang SCSI bus protocol. Any information would be appreciated. -- --------- Dave Douglass Computer Sciences Corporation Piscataway, NJ 08854 ....!rutgers.rutgers.edu!cscnj!daved
