I wish people would use mail rather than news to answer trivial inquiries such as the one about ST2 quotations. Anyone who asks such a question deserves to get 38 answers, but the rest of us who read the newsgroup don't. I know, and most people know, that the quotes are from *A Tale of Two Cities*. Further, the director knows that most people know, otherwise he would have omitted them because they would't `work' from an artistic/cinematic point of view. So please reply to trivial questions by mail. On this system I use the "r-" answer to the next article's [ynq] prompt to mail directly to the questioner). Thanks. What worries me just as much is how people could get through high school and probably university without having been exposed to the context of such well-known quotations. However, that discussion belongs in some hypothetical group such as net.nfgschoolsys or something. Ian Darwin U of Toronto Computing Services
