#N:pur-ee:7000006:000:890 pur-ee!davy Jun 27 02:03:00 1982 Annie - Albert Finney, Aileen Quinn, Carol Burnett, Bernadette Peters I just got done watching "Annie", and must say, I thouroughly enjoyed it. The cast (Finney as Daddy Warbucks, Quinn as Annie, Burnett as the orphanage director, and somebosy-or-other Reinking as Grace) is just excellent, and the supporting cast members are very good also. The sets are magnificent, the dancing and choreography are really nifty, and the songs aren't too bad either. There are a few lines in some of the songs which aren't too intelligble, but that's life. I would recommend this movie to everyone, even if you hate the comic strip (like me), with only one warning. Make sure you hit the rest- rooms before it starts -- it's about 2 hours and 15 minutes, and you won't want to miss any of it. --Dave Curry decvax!pur-ee!davy ucbvax!pur-ee!davy ihnss!pur-ee!davy harpo!pur-ee!davy

I got the feeling ANNIE was a little overproduced. To many choreographed songs and orchestra accompanyment. When a high point (annie sings tomorrow to FDR) occurs, all one can notice is how feeble her voice is and the lack of acompanyment, I would not normally notice this if everything else did not have a orchestra and backup chorus. Don't get the wrong impression, I generally liked it, and I am favorable to such movies, but I think they slipped a bit from what they could do. - steve
