[deleted stuff about a super inexepensive '386 machine using a Turnpoint motherboard] I don't know about this machine, but I am using a Super-Multi-I/O FDC (p,2s,g,clk,1.44fdc) from Turnpoint and it works O.K. I don't know about the quality of their other products. Another colleague had some trouble with this card and exchanged it with them for another; but then wanted to return the exchanged card (which did work) for an upgraded model, and they would do so only if he paid a re-stocking fee. I don't know who makes their stuff for them. M Volow, VA Medical Center, Durham, NC 27705 mvolo@ecsvax.UUCP 919 286 0411

heck, YES!!! what this amounts to is giving him a trade-in allowance on the
working board toward purchase of the spiffier board--and there's _no_
reason that they shold be expected to give totally full-original-price
trade-in allowance (i.e. not charge "restocking fee")--in fact there's no
_necessity_ that they take back the less-spiffy board in trade, _at_all_,
IMHO it's pretty decent of them to even offer the trade-in--al lot of
places _do_not_ offer it _at_all_
