Hoping someone can help - DG are you reading? I have a Data General
Model One (stop snickering) laptop which requires the software to
address, and thus correctly initialize the UART chip. The only
problem(s) is/are that to upgrade the versions of DOS, you have to buy
them from DG. Okay, so their mark-up is inflationary, the computer is
obsolete and they will be no longer marketing the upgrades. They will,
however, sell me the Programmer's Reference for the obsolete machine
for a mere $45.00.
I was wondering if anyone knows how to write a new program or modify
the system files to correctly initialize the UART chip. Or, if someone
has a copy of the Programmer's Reference could you forward the
pertininent technical mumbo jumbo to me. Sure would appreciate the
help.
