[comp.sys.ibm.pc] pc emulation

Has anyone ever seen software which can emulate PC-DOS on a mainframe?
I'm interested in running PC-based software on our VAX. Obviously,
hardware support is moot, but a graphics terminal should be able to
emulate a monochrome version of CGA.

This has been done on a number of machines, although I don't know if
VAX is one. If you're running VMS you might consider buying one of the
cards which plugs into the DEC backplane and provides PC hardware
support. It's a lot faster, lower CPU overhead, etc. You will probably
have to ask around for the manufacturer, I wasn't interested and tossed
the ad months ago.
