Has anyone ever seen software which can emulate PC-DOS on a mainframe? I'm interested in running PC-based software on our VAX. Obviously, hardware support is moot, but a graphics terminal should be able to emulate a monochrome version of CGA. agc

This has been done on a number of machines, although I don't know if VAX is one. If you're running VMS you might consider buying one of the cards which plugs into the DEC backplane and provides PC hardware support. It's a lot faster, lower CPU overhead, etc. You will probably have to ask around for the manufacturer, I wasn't interested and tossed the ad months ago. -- bill davidsen (davidsen@crdos1.crd.GE.COM -or- uunet!crdgw1!crdos1!davidsen) "The world is filled with fools.
