-------- The following is a summary of responses that I got to my query about editing large files using Micro-Emacs: (by the way Jove is an acronym for "Johnathan's Own Version of Emacs") ============================================== I believe Jove will let you edit 'arbitrarily' large files, where 'arbitrarily' translated to the size of your hard disk or something like that. In any case, you can find a copy of it on `cadre.dsl.pittsburgh.edu' [130.49.128.1]. Look at /pub/jove/4.13/pcjov413.arc for the latest version, 4.13. Hope this helps! ====================================================== Epsilon, from Lugaru, will handle files as large as the free space on your disk. It would cost you about $160, is REAL close to standard EMACS, and its extension language is K&R `C', except for about 5 minor differences. ====================================================== Thanks for your help.
