I'm sitting here, and perhaps you are sitting there, with an offer to upgrade Zortech C++ to version 2.0 "Developer's Edition" for a mear $300! I bought my first version (1.03) for $100, and it didn't work. After a complaining phone call, they gave me a free upgrade to 1.07. It doesn't do the calculator example from the Stroustrup book (problems with streams). The developer's edition comes with "C++ Tools" collection of classes, which someone reported did not work (in fact portions wouldn't compile) in the version 1 release. It also comes with library source (a chance to fix streams?), and the desparately needed (but does it work) C++ debugger. Has anyone on the net purchased (and tried) Version 2? Would I be a sucker for buying it, or even the $40 compiler only upgrade? Has anyone heard a good rumor about Microsoft C++ or Borland Turbo C++ (or will Borland, in their infinite wisdom, introduce a non-standard oop extension to their C)? Or should I just buck the trends and stick with other languages? An enquiring mind wants to know? Mail to me and I'll summarize (unless you have a *really profound* observation, then I'll excuse your posting). Tom Almy toma@tekgvs.labs.tek.com Standard Disclaimers Apply
