[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Desqview problems with PS/2 Model 60

I am having problems with Desqview. My system configuration is
an IBM PS/2 Model 60, which includes an Intel Aboveboard 2+ LIMS 4.0
expanded memory card. The difficulty that I am trying to solve at the
moment is to run Procomm Plus with other software e.g. WordPerfect 5.0.
As recommended, PC Plus has been loaded first, and is non-swappable. As
soon as any other window is opened, PC Plus starts to lose characters.
This is when operating at 9600bps. It happens whether PC Plus is
switched to foreground or background. Changing the "performance"
parameters (the number of clock ticks given to foreground and background
programs) doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. The set-up has been
set to optimize communications.

Besides experiencing character loss, scrolling of a lengthy piece of
text on the remote system seems to come in bursts of 10 lines or so at a
time.

The same set up has been used on an Epson Equity III, though with no
expanded memory, limiting programs to what will fit into conventional
memory, and no character loss occurs. Text scrolling is also smooth.
This suggests to me that it may be something to do with the expanded
memory rather than Desqview or the PS/2.

Has anyone used a similar combination of hardware/software who
can suggest any solutions to these difficulties.
