[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Star Micronics printers and ...

jca@pnet01.cts.com (John C. Archambeau) (11/18/89)

This problem seems to have plagued Star Micronics printers and IBM compatables
since Star has been in business. The problem is that regardless of what the
dipswitch setting is for automatic linefeed append is, if one is dumping bit
image graphics using Epson codes to one, you get an extra linefeed after each
line of bit image graphics. This problem plagues my Gemini 10X (I know it's
old, but I got it for free and the ribbons are inexpensive) and a friend's
Star NX1500.

How can I get rid of this problem once and for all? Bit image graphics aren't
meant to be double spaced. If there's a setup or configuration for a
Gemini 10X/15X, I use that, but in programs that don't, I use Epson
(FX/MX-80). Except for the double spacing of bit image graphics, it is
IDENTICAL to an Epson's output.

Any suggestions before I go yelling at Star Micronics for a solution?
