I would like to find a FORTRAN compiler for MS-DOS which
conforms, for the most part, to 1966 ANSI standard FORTRAN and
which is less than $50. There are several professional versions
of FORTRAN 77 available, but their cost is well above $50 and my
needs don't require the added capabilities of FORTRAN 77. There
is one such compiler which comes close to meeting my needs, it is
called UTAH FORTRAN and is available from Ellis Computing, Inc.
The price is under $30 and it is essentially FORTRAN 66; however,
it is missing a few very important features (for my needs for a
FORTRAN 66 compiler anyway). In particular it lacks a double
precision statement, complex numbers, an external statement and
subscripted subscripts. If you know of another MS-DOS FORTRAN 66
compiler I would be happy if you would send me some information
about it.
