Wanted: A converter box which can translate rs232 signals to ieee 488 port. I need it to connect on one end to the serial port in my pc, another end to an ieee488 ported plotter. I heard there is such a thing, but don't know where to find it. Any information will be appreciated. ndeng@euler.berkeley.edu

I believe that I have a similar problem. I have an HP-7470 plotter with an IEEE interface. (I wouldn't be surprised if that is what you have) The solution that I have come up with is using a Commodore Pet as an interface. It has both an IEEE and a Parallel port on the back. I have the plotter hooked up to the pet and it is working great. When I get some more time I am going to hook the Pet up to the second printer port on my PC. Then I will have the pet echo everything from the parallel port to the IEEE. By the way, the pet cost me $45 at a used electronics store. Good luck !!
