Does anyone know what shop they filmed the computers in? I could have sworn I saw a Cray as they panned they computer room. Did anyone else? Steve Bratman

Many of the scenes in TRON were filmed at the Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory. While I haven't yet seen the movie yet, I know some things
about the filming since I live in Livermore and even used to work at the
lab. At last count, LLNL has about 6 or so Crays and probably as many CDC
7600's (some of which serve as front ends for the Crays).
>From what I have heard, TRON was filmed around the lab in areas including
the Shiva Laser Complex, some Magenetic Fusion labs and (I think) one
of the computer centers (probably the MFE center).

The machine room shots were at Lawrence Livermore Lab, and I am guessing the "laser" machine frame is actually a shot of the Shiva machine. LLNL was listed in the credits, and when the shots went by, I thought I recognized the CDC MassStore boxes. -Mike
