I have heard of a "black box with a pencil" of use to construction
estimators, builders, etc.
The "pencil" is moved along a dimension on a drawing, and the drawing's
scale entered into the software controlling the gadget. The dimension is
then produced.
The instrument would be of great value to anyone estimating from drawings,
maps, what have you, but I can't seem to get a line on them....
Would appreciate hearing of brand names available, Canadian distributors
carrying them, North American manufacturers, etc, via netmail...if anyone's
interested, I can provide a digest...
