I recently purchased my dream machine, but am having problems installing Interactives version of Unix. My System is: Mylex IWS-J Motherboard with 4MB of 80ns SIMM Dram, 25MZ, 64K of read cache, 12MZ bus speed, no math coprocessor, AMI bios. Adaptec AHA 1542 SCSI controller attached to: 1 CDC 155MB (formatted) full height drive. 1 Teac 1.2MB fdd. A: 1 Chinon 1.44MB fdd. B: 1 Chickory 16bit VGA card and Leading edge VGA monitor 6 slot tower case, 230 watt power supply. The symptoms are: On boot with the Interactive floppy, the system paints the Interactive LOGO and then does nothing. The floppy disk drive spins continously. Nothing else happens. I have waited as long as 20 minutes. I DO have the write protect tab off the boot floppy. I have been able to successfully install SCO XENIX and DOS 3.3 on the hard drive, and can run with either. I'm stimied. Any body run into this before? Any ideas? -- Larry Taborek ..!uunet!grebyn!macom1!larry Centel Federal Systems larry@macom1.UUCP 11400 Commerce Park Drive Reston, VA 22091-1506 My views do not reflect those of Centel 703-758-7000
