[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Questions on another DAK product

rbr@bonnie.ATT.COM (4197,ATTT) (12/02/89)

In that Winter 90 DAK catalogue that has strirred so much interest on
the net was an ad for the Complete PC Half-Page Scanner. Does anyone
have one of these? If so, how does it interface with the system bus?
I have a TANDY 1000SL, 640KRAM, and 40-MEG Hard Disk. The system
seems to be very PC compatible ( at least I haven't found any software
that it won't run). The major differences are that IRQ2 and IRQ5 functions
are reversed and the CGA uses 64K of RAM for buffers.

This scanner only has a 200-dpi resolution but it should be fine for
hobby use. ( I have my wife convinced that this would be a neat Christmas
present)

My main concern is to avoid frying my mother-board. If I couldn't get it
to work for other reasons I would only be out the money to ship it
back to DAK.

Thanks in advance
