Does anyone out there know of any frame grabber boards for the pc/at that can digitize with greater than 8 bits (per channel)? Also, does anyone know of companies marketing flopticals, or any other very high density random access removable media (whew!!) with a per unit cost less that $30? Thanks! Datacube is going to produce a video digitizer that has a 12-bit ADC and should be good to at least 11-bits. But what video source do you have that is better than 8-bit ? There are some cameras that are good to about 10-bits but they are rare. In any case the whole setup will be expensive. The Datacube rig sits on a VME and you must use an AT-bus to VME converter. Total cost will exceed $10K. Cheers, Dan Ts'o 212-570-7671 Dept.
