[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Hercules and Turbo Basic

mlang@pprg.unm.edu (Michael Lang) (11/29/89)

I have a Zenith 158 with and old Hecules board. I'm trying to get
turbo basic to draw anything on the screen. I've tried using
SCREEN 0-13
with and without HGC FULL & HALF in the autoexec. I can't find
anything in the turbo manual specific to hercules.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

THIS IS NOT A FLAME

If you get desperate, yo could switch to QuickBasic, which DOES support
Hercules monochrome graphics cards in SCREEN 3.

You must have version 1.1 to do Hercules graphics. 1.0 doesn't support
Hercules. The details of the support for Hercules, EGA, MCGA, and VGA are
in the README file.

TurboBasic 1.0 does not support Hercules graphics. You can get the upgrade
to 1.1 from Borland for $15 and it does do Herc graphics (it also fixes a
bug or two).
