I recently set up a system which required two keyboards - QWERTY and Dvorak. The owner wanted to use SuperKey to load the Dvorak driver. The system is menu-driven, using a shareware menu, 3D-Menu. One of the selections permits changing boot files (autoexec.bat and config.sys) so that re-booting the system permits the user to change keyboard drivers. The system works, but unexpected problems crop up constantly. First, of course, SuperKey needs about 58K of RAM to do it's job, which makes it nearly impossible to run many of his applications once Dvorak is loaded. The worst problem is that the menu system behaves erratically - even when the boot is standard, to the default (QWERTY) keyboard, menu selections sometimes load SuperKey and Dvorak without rhyme or reason....this may be nothing more than a corruption of the menu's data files - haven't had time to check it out yet.... MS-DOS is provided with various keyboard drivers, for use outside North America. I would like to know if there's anyone out there who has a similar executable Dvorak driver which can be run without remaining in residence - preferably from autoexec.bat...... -- "The number of things in a given class is the class of all classes that are similar to the given class."
