I bought a wyse 386/16MHz machine about a year ago. It came with
1 MB of memory and room on the system board for another MB. Here's
my problem: I want to expand my memory up to 4MB. I called wyse
and asked how much it would cost for a 2MB expansion board - boy
was I surprised - $1200. That's quite a bit beyodn me. I have
heard rumor that wyse manufactured empty boards about a year ago
because memory was so expensive - but they have since discontinued
this practice.
Does anyone know where I could find a cheaper wyse comnpatible board?
(which the 32-bit top-plane adapter?)
Does anybody know where I might find an empty board?
Does anybody know where I might find a wyse usergroup that might
have answers to my questions?
Wyse charges $60/hr just to talk with a technician, can anybody
out there tell me how to rig up my own top-plane adapter?
Does anybody know who else might manufacture a 32-bit board
compatible for the wyse?
Yes! I am desperate! Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,

John Haugh II, owner/operator of rpp386, told me a while back he knew of a third part manufacturer of Wyse-compatible boards. Drop him a note at jfh@rpp386 and see if he can fill you in. You'll find his phone number on the PUBNIX list. |Does anybody know who else might manufacture a 32-bit board | compatible for the wyse? I may have a spare top-plane adapter, I believe, if you can't obtain one with your RAM card.
