You know, this sorta reminded me of a class about American Authors that I took in college... The professor fought valiantly to convince me that there was a hidden "Christ Analogy" within the book "Billy Budd." I thought that since Melville was not here to give THE definitive answer about this subject, that I had just as much right NOT to think that this sailor-story was really all about religion... For my concluding paper I wrote (rather convincingly, I thought) that just about any situation could be interpreted to be a Christ- symbol, and used as my argument a real-life situation from my biology class. We were in the middle of dissecting frogs, and one of my friends had apparently not pithed her frog correctly... In the middle of her first cut into the frog's abdomen, the poor thing suddenly sprang up and hopped away (as my friend screamed hysterically). Now, I really can't think of a more complete analogy than this! Place pins (nails) through the frog's (Christ) hands and feet, jab him in the side with a scalpel, and HE RISES AGAIN FROM THE DEAD!!! P.S. In case you're wondering, he gave me a D for that paper... Which goes to show you that, above all else, don't disagree with someone in power over something as idiotic as this!!!
