Could someone please summarize for me the current wisdom about DOS Extenders and 386 C compilers ? It appears that the two contenders for DOS extenders are Phar Lap and OS/386. OS/386 appears to be cheaper, especially for re-distribution. Any other differences ? Virtual memory support (I think both claim to have it.) Amongst 386 C compilers the contenders seem to be High C, Watcom C, and SVS C/386 (there are also a few others). One issue is compatibility with MSC libraries, in particular bios calls and graphics libraries. Any experiences out there ? Please email responses. Thanks. Cheers, Dan Ts'o 212-570-7671 Dept.
