I recently purchased a PC that came with Digital Research's DOS clone, DR DOS, version 3.41. It apparently has a lot of DOS 4 features, including support for hard disk partitions greater than 32Mb. It's manual leaves a bit to one's own imagination, or previous experience with other versions of DOS. Has anyone had any experience with DR DOS? I am debating ordering DOS 4.01 or DOS 4.1 (saw it for sale from one mail order house for $86). I have seen the recent articles on DOS 3 versus DOS 4, and will go DOS 4. Amoung other things, I want a single 40Mb partition. In particular, I cannot find the magic to get WordPerfect's shell program working when calling a batch file or when executing a single DOS command. I know that shell is not the problem, but don't know what is. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! Bill Gieske att!alux2!wg

I should point out that while the DRI employees who read this group have been very supportive, both DRI and 2001 (who distributes DRDOS in the US) totally ignored every one of my written requests for help and/or upgrade information I finally replaced DRDOS on my system with MSDOS 3.3, and found the improvement very pleasant; many programs that didn't work before now do without complaint., and my TPA is larger.
