I just got off the 'phone with Miles at Borland technical support regarding the change in the @DSUM function. @DSUM is used to scan a block of data, making searches for a match condition (or conditions) determining whether or not to include that field into a running sum. In the previous version the match criterion could be specified with a string match; no more. The ONLY way to specify the match criteria is with a criteria table. Miles related that the earlier version had resulted in undetectable errors (so how did they know?) and was deemed impossible to include in the new version, Quattro Pro. So if your Quattro spreadsheets make use of the string-match for database search/inquiry, expect them to break if you upgrade to Quattro Pro. kEITHe
