The movie has been playing in Toronto for about two weeks. If you go, I suggest you check the theatre out first for a reasonable sound system. Not surprisingly, the music is absolutely essential to the movie, particularly since there is no real dialogue or narrative in the movie apart from the PF soundtrack. Critical reaction to the movie in Toronto has been lukewarm to hostile, which is understandable since the critics don't know the music (a conclusion easily ascertained from reading the reviews). The images in the movie are impressive, but perhaps overdone at times. The animation sequences are really something, although I objected to the negative way in which women were portrayed in those images that contained sexual metaphors. (Several images depicted a heterosexual relationship as somewhat of a praying mantis metaphor--the female pm, as we know, has this penchant for devouring her mate after coupling.) Anyone who likes the PF album will like the movie. I'm in that category. Eugene Fiume (...utzoo!utcsrgv!elf)

I saw PF the wall a couple of days ago and I thought it was one of the worst movies I have seen in a long time. Don't get me wrong I liked the music but I thought the movie was too extreme in it's interpretation of the music. I was with a friend who was nearly sick to her stomach with some of the scenes I myself wasn't feeling the greatest after the show. I consider this unfortunate since I was really looking forward to seeing the Wall on film. Ted Sikorski (U of T Computing Services)
